Finding the Right Dress For a Beach Wedding
After deciding to have a beach wedding at one of your favorite resorts in Jamaica, one big decision remains for the bride: what dress will you wear? This is often the hardest decision for a bride to make, especially when opting for a beach wedding. Here are some helpful hints to get you in the dress of your dreams. Many Jamaica all inclusive resorts have full-time wedding planners on staff. You many want to consider asking the wedding planner to send pictures of previous weddings just to generate some ideas. The next thing you will want to ponder before you step into the first white dress is what time of day are you going to be married and what is the average temperature going to be on and around your wedding day. A huge, silk dress on a humid afternoon could make you feel less than lovely, but the same dress for an evening wedding might work.
So now that you have thought about the time of day and the temperature at the all inclusive Caribbean venue of your choice, let’s talk dresses. Think about your body type and what types of dress you would normally wear and feel comfortable in. You might want to start trying on dresses that share one or two of these traits. For example, if you love the feel of strapless dresses, then you might want to start with strapless dresses. Conversely, if don’t like showing you legs, an above the knee white silk dress might not be your comfort level.
Some brides may opt to have a dress made to their own specifications. This can be a good option if you already have the dress of your dreams in your head. Another option is to rent or borrow a dress. Ask your mother and grandmother if they still have their wedding dresses and then ask if you can try it on. Even if their dress is not the dress of your dreams, it will be a great way to connect with the important women in your life before your big day.
